HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Monthly shows are go. Tennis are the first artist of the week of 2012. The band, not the game. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The only tracks I could play for you from them were the three free downloads that I nabbed from their Tumblr.
I’ll be honest, it felt good to be back. Even if I do sound as morose as usual.

As always, for those who can’t be arsed to listen, here is the list of the top thirty tracks played on the show all year.

No poster* this year. Remember those well funny posters I used to do? Good times.
*Update. I haz poster. Massive thanks to my favourite man.
Anyway, the top 30 tracks I’ve played all year. I hope you enjoy it. Sorry if your band missed out. And sorry if you’re already sick of end of year lists…
Merry Christmas.

When people normally say things like ‘I’m back’, it’s based on the assumption that someone had noticed they had gone in the first place…
Anyway, Texas Radio Band are artist of the week. Their new album is called Bluescreen, is out now on I Ka Ching Records, and is seriously, seriously good.
Also, this month (not week), I announce two major gigs in December. Click here and here for info and tickets. Please come to them as I really want the money to buy new trackie bottoms, maroon trainers, a jumper and Skyward Sword.

Ivan Campo are back! They have a new mini album out called What Went Wrong? They are artist of the week.
I’d love to say something funny and interesting about the show here but I’m late to see The Troll Hunter.
ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR! That’s my impression of a troll.

Despite playing them last week (and on my recent All FM shows) Trwbador are artist of the week. Their, frankly ace, second EP is out now on Owlet Music. Also this week, I play more bands from the Owlet roster, start a new half-arsed feature and rant for seemingly ages about how ace 2006 was compared to now.

1. Big thanks to everyone who came to the gig the other day.
2. It was ace.
3. Sorry I haven’t been here in a while. Some valid excuses. Some not.
4. Maria and the Gay are artist of the week.
5. They have a new album out now on Big Print Records.
6. It is ace.

I’m back baby! If you have any interest in where I’ve been, just listen to the show. I spent what felt like the entire show talking about it. Boring.
Anyway, Jen Jeniro are artist of the week. They have an ace new EP out called Swimming Limbs. It’s out now on I Ka Ching Records.
With all the ‘look how interesting my life is’ spiel, I forgot to mention this. It’s quite important. I should’ve really said something about it. There’s always next week.*

Ahh the Voluntary Butler Scheme, I remember when you were just a lanky young stringbean with a glockenspiel and a pocket full of dreams. Now here you are about to release your second album, which is why you are artist of the week. Again.
Two tracks from his new album. One from his first. Plus one extra, really old, track which I’m pretty sure he hates…
Anyway, the album. It’s called Grandad Galaxy and it’s currently streaming here. That website says it’s out tomorrow (July 18th). However, Amazon says it’s not out until July 25th. Luckily, the label clears up any confusion by having absolutely no mention whatsoever of the new album on their website.
Cheers.

This week, it’s one of those special ‘if you only ever listen to one Cloud Sounds, make sure it’s this one’ shows, as Spencer McGarry Season is / are artist of the week. As I say numerous times, the album ‘Episode 2′ can only be described as a masterpiece.
The album was released last year on Businessman Records. I offer you a most humble apology I haven’t featured it properly before now.
Enjoy.
