The Soundcarriers are artist of the month. They have a new single out on The Great Pop Supplement. One of the tracks features Elijah Wood. Ooooh fancy…I don’t play that track. Instead, I play the other side of the single, as well as looking back at some of the finest tracks in The Soundcarriers excellent back catalogue.
Also, this month I talk briefly about my experience at Festival Number 6, but I don’t mention that I’ve quit my job and shaved my head. It’s not all about me, you know…it’s about the music.

Euros Childs is artist of the month. Do you need any other reason to listen? Didn’t think so. His umpteenth album, Summer Special, is out now and it’s arguably his best. And that’s saying something.

As always, for those who can’t be arsed to listen, here is the list of the top thirty tracks played on the show all year.

When people normally say things like ‘I’m back’, it’s based on the assumption that someone had noticed they had gone in the first place…
Anyway, Texas Radio Band are artist of the week. Their new album is called Bluescreen, is out now on I Ka Ching Records, and is seriously, seriously good.
Also, this month (not week), I announce two major gigs in December. Click here and here for info and tickets. Please come to them as I really want the money to buy new trackie bottoms, maroon trainers, a jumper and Skyward Sword.

HOORAY! It’s the 4th Annual Cloud Sounds Welsh Special. By far and away, the greatest hour of radio all year.
Following in the footsteps of the Texas Radio Band, Euros Childs and Richard James, H.Hawkline is artist of the week. A career highlight, no doubt. This includes an exclusive track from his forthcoming album, The Strange Uses Of Ox Gall.
Also this week, I say little else other than ‘I’ve probably pronounced that wrong’ and ‘I’m not even going to try and pronounce that.’
BRILLIANT!

The world’s most prolific musician, Chips For The Poor is artist of the week as we preview his first single in 5 years…
Also, this week, I confuse a brass section with a string section (I’m a fucking moron) and I reveal my favourite film. As a treat, here’s the original trailer.

If last week was the best Cloud Sounds ever, this week is arguably the most shambolic (there was an incident with a softmint). Fittingly then, the most shambolic band ever played on the show, The Bordellos, are artist of the week as we hear tracks from their new album – ‘Debt Sounds’. You can buy it here by the way…
